Marcos Valle – Marcos Valle
Cover: M (sealed)
Marcos Valle is one of the more familiar faces in Brazil's rich musical history. This self-titled LP was originally released in 1983 and is the 16th album in his extensive catalog. The record sees a departure from the MPB, samba, jazz, and bossa nova Marcos' was most recognized for and takes us on a journey to Brazilian stylings of boogie, funk and disco. The intro track Estrella was a huge hit in Brazil and I've come across quite a few commoners who are familiar with it as well. Para Os Filhos De Abraao has become my favorite track off the album. It's driving rhythm and Marcos' soothing vocal accompaniment make for the dance of life. Preservation Records is based in Norway and has provided us with this beautiful reissue of the Brazilian masterpiece. Housed in the original artwork sleeve, the remastered vinyl comes with an extensive booklet based on interview with Marcos Valle and also includes lyric sheets in both English and Portuguese.
